The problem with marketing is that it has become this huge, catch-all term that includes SO MANY THINGS.

So many freaking things.

So everyone and their mother has an opinion on what marketing should be doing.

Except that 90% of the time, that opinion is based on what marketing used to be back in the ‘80s, when computers were clunky, no-one knew what a company website was, and salespeople were driving around lunching and boozing with clients all day everyday.

The disconnect is real.
