The yin and the yang of business
And the quest for balance
This won’t come as a shocker that male energy is all pervasive in business.
I make a distinction between being a man, or a woman, and male and female energies. Or what is most known as Yin and Yang energies.
We all, irrespective of whether we’re male or female, have both male and female energies coursing through us. Just in different amounts.
What does that mean ? When we talk about male energy, we refer to characteristics like structure, logic, goal-driven, linear thinking, order.
But what about female energies ?
This is less talked about. The characteristics we typically associate women with tend to be derogatory, to put it mildly : emotional and even hysterical, illogical, unpredictable.
But, *gasp* yin energy has some positive traits too : innovation, game changing ideas, big picture thinking, insight, renewal, wisdom, collaboration, empathy.
It’s interesting to draw parallels with the way business is conducted today.
Business is still dominated by male principles. Goal driven, discipline, structure are traits that aren’t even questioned when it comes to business success.
